Indian broadband service provider Sify has selected the WiMAX Forum-certified RedMAX products by Redline, a Canada-based WiMAX and broadband wireless product maker, to deploy WiMAX networks in several major cities in India, Nikkei Electronics Asia reported on August 4.

According to the Nikkei report, Sify has utilized Redline's products in Delhi and Mumbai for enterprise users. The company has also initiated a network expansion project to deploy WiMAX networks in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The project is slated for completion by year-end 2008.
